Adoption Guide

Vietnam Adoption

Vietnam Girl

Please Note: We are not currently taking applications for the Vietnam program.  The MOU agreement between the US and Vietnam did expire on September 1, 2008.  The country is currently closed to new applications.  We are waiting for a new agreement to be reached between the US and Vietnam before any new families can proceed with their adoption. We are uncertain how long it will be before a new agreement will be reached.

Children’s Hope began working in Vietnam in 1998 with well over 300 adoptions. From 2003 – 2006, adoptions in Vietnam closed to US families and the entire adoption system in Vietnam was restructured. In June 2005, the US and Vietnam signed the memorandum of agreement to allow adoptions to resume with US families. Vietnam now requires that all agencies be licensed. Children’s Hope was licensed on January 25, 2006 and has completed over 160 adoptions since then.
