Good News for Your Adoption Paperwork
Post Adoption Reports:
We have good news: The CCCWA is not requiring that your post-adoption reports to be done by a Hague or COA accredited agency. So for families that already have a dosier in china you do not need to look for a new agency to complete your post-adoption reports.

The Chinese Culture: Names, Beyond the Guide - Traveling in China, and More!
Names in China:
Western names and Chinese names are written in reverse order of each other. Namely (pun intended), Chinese names begin with the surname first. This flows out of the thought that being part of a group and showing respect to the family is most important; individual identity is less important. One of the two given names is typically "generation name". The generation name was usually, though not always, shared by all male or all female siblings of the same generation. The other was a personal name. For example, in the Zhang family, two brothers share the given name, Yi. Each also has a unique given name:
Zhang Yi Wah
Zhang Yi Rong
Two sisters will also share a common given name, Yu, which differs from the common name shared by their brothers...

This has been a wonderful week for waiting children. The CCCWA posted a new group of children and we were able to match 6 families. Now is the time to get on the list to be matched with a child with minor special needs.

We want to remind you that if your dossier will not be done by the FIRST WEEK of SEPTEMBER you will have some additional requirements that will be required by the CCCWA.
- You will need a home study completed by a Hague or COA accredited agency.
- Parents must have a minimum of 12 hours of parent education...

Singles! Important Information for Your Dossier Creation
The following are additional dossier documents, not listed in your workbook, that are needed to complete your dossier.
- Letter stating that you are single and not homosexual. This letter must be notarized, state certified and authenicated.
- Divorced applicants must include a copy of their divorce decree, notarized, state certified and authenicated.
- Widowed applicants must include include a copy of their spouses death certificate, notarized, state certified and authenicated.

A Wonderful Day for Three Waiting Families!

Today was a wonderful day for the China Team. We receive 3 healthy referrals, 2 boys, 19 months and 10 months and 1 girl, 11 months. CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE THREE VERY EXCITED FAMILIES!
The CCAA Makes Several Announcements
MARCH 16TH: CCAA CHANGES THEIR NAME: China Centre for Children's Welfare and Adoption or CCCWA
MARCH 18TH: REQUIREMENTS OF GUARANTEE OF ADOPTED CHILDREN'S RIGHTS AND INTERESTS BY INTENSIVE PROTECTION MEASURES:
Effective October 1, 2011 for all dossiers submitted to the CCCWA
- ALL Home Studies must be completed by a Hague or COA accredited agency.
- Parents must have a minimum of 12 hours of parent education. This is to include more than online training. Parents must have training where they attend a class, lecture and some training on medical treatment for this we could use first aid and or cpr training. TRAINING MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE HOME STUDY.
