China Adoption Cost

2008 China Fee Schedule US Dollars (as of January 2008)

1. Children’s Hope International Agency Fee:

2. International Program Fee. Includes: translation, liaison with government and agency authorities, social services, development fee, facilitation, adoption and travel coordination.

3. Orphanage Fees: An in-China fee required by the CCAA for the benefit Of orphans not adopted. Not tax deductible by U.S. tax laws. Paid to orphanage upon receiving your child.

4. CCAA Processing Fee: This fee is paid to CHI when you submit your dossier.

6. Travel Costs: Approximate travel costs for 2 parents for 12 days adopting an infant.

a) International Airfare - US to China and return (coach fare)

b) Inside China travel: based on double occupancy and infant (hotels with breakfast, 2 flights in China, sightseeing, ground transportation, coordinator travel expenses, service fee and tipping for most groups).

c) Airfare – China to US for infant with adult coach fair (this is not a ticket for a seat, but a fee for the flight).

d) Children ages 2-12, fees are about 75% of adult fare for a seat.

 

e) Additional travel companion fee: $250

* NO FEES ARE REFUNDABLE AFTER SERVICES ARE RENDERED.

Other costs will include:

  1. Homestudy and post-placement fees, these fees are determined by the agency you choose.

  2. I-600A immigration fee $670.00 + $80 per person over the age of 18 living in your home to be fingerprinted.

  3. Documentation fees vary from state to state. The cost will be approximate $400 - $600 for documents to be notarized, certified, and authenticated.

  4. Visa to China ($130 per person plus cost of courier), roundtrip airfare from your home to US city of departure, meals in country.

  5. If only one parent is traveling CHI will charge a refundable $1,000 deposit with the inside China travel invoice. This fee will be refundable upon receipt of your child’s re-adoption/adoption documents from your state of residence and his/her Citizenship Certificate or US Passport.
