· Adoptive parents must be between the ages of 25 and 55 years in order to adopt a child under the age of 4. Couples over the age of 55 have to be open to a child older than 4.
· Minimum age difference between parents and child should equal 15 years.
· Maximum age difference between parents and child should not exceed 45 years.
· There is no upper age limit on perspective parents.
· Single females are permitted to adopt. They must show evidence of above average financial ability and a plan for the care of the child if they work.
· The Family must meet United States Immigration requirements as well as provide a complete dossier of paperwork to Bulgarian officials.
· Both parents MUST have US Citizenship at this time.
· People with certain diseases/medical conditions are unable to adopt.
