Secretary of State

Apostilles and Certifications are $5.00 per document

Make sure that the document has an original signature and embossed seal of a currently commissioned Alabama official.

For certifications, each notarized document must have an additional county authentication of the notary commission. It is issued by the office of the probate judge in the notary's county of residence. In Jefferson County only, it is issued by the office of the circuit clerk.
