Qualifications for China Adoption

Married couples between the ages of 30 and 50 are eligible to adopt Chinese orphans. If both spouses are between 30 and 40, they may adopt a child aged 6 to 18 months. Couples who are both between 40 and 45 may adopt a child aged 12 to 36 months. Couples between 45 and 50 may adopt a child three years old or older.

There are stringent medical restrictions as well. Parents who have had major surgery within the past 10 years, who suffer from depression, have a history of cancer or have a body mass index over 40 are not eligible. A history of drug use, domestic violence or other criminal charges will also render a person ineligible. At least one adoptive parent must be a United States citizen, and the family must meet financial guidelines.

Couples who are married for the first time must have been married for at least two years. If either spouse has been married once or twice before, the couple must have been married for five years. If either spouse has been divorced three times, the couple is not eligible for China adoption. Please refer to the qualifications page on our website for more information, and let us put our experience in adoption services to work for you and your child.
