China adoption qualifications fall into the following categories:
- Age qualifications: parents must be between the ages of 30 and 50
- Medical history: both parents must be in good health and have no history of various medical problems
- Financial status: parents must prove they are able to support their adopted child
- Criminal record: no history of violent crime
- Marital history: neither parent can have been divorced more than twice
- Education requirement: both parents must have completed high school or vocational training
- Size of family: no more than five children in the home unless you are adopting a child with special needs
- Religious requirement: parents cannot belong to a religion that prohibits medical treatment
- Citizenship requirements: at least one parent must be a U.S. citizen
