China Adoption Laws - Find Help At Children's Hope International

Children's Hope International is a not-for-profit organization with nearly two decades of experience in working with China adoption laws. If you want to adopt a child from China, we can help you navigate the complex process. As one of the earliest agencies to work with Asia adoption policies, we have been able to place more than 3,600 children, donated more than $1.5 million in aid to help those who are not adopted have a better life, and worked tirelessly to guide prospective parents through the process of finding their own beloved child.

China Adoption Laws Set Age Regulations

China adoption laws require that prospective parents be a married couple, both of whom are between the ages of 30 and 50. The age of the child you are allowed to adopt varies with the ages of the parents. If parents are between 30 and 40, for instance, they may apply to adopt a child between the ages of six and 18 months. Parents older than 45 can apply to adopt a child three years old or older.

Health restrictions also apply to Asia adoption. A history of mental health problems, major surgery, alcoholism or even obesity can make you ineligible to adopt. A criminal record of drug use, violent crime or any felony can also lead to refusal of your application. Parents must meet financial guidelines as well, which are tied to the size of your family.
