Karen came to Children’s Hope in June of 2005 to help families navigate the process of bringing home their children from Russia. She holds a BA in Russian Studies from Principia College and served as a Russian Analyst for the U.S. Department of Defense in Maryland for ten years. A St. Louis native, Karen returned with her family including three children.

Karen says, “I believe that communication with my families is vital and I strive to give them the customer service that I would want to receive. It is a privilege to get to know my adoptive families and help them to bring home their blessing from abroad!”

 

Anna Rister

Russia/Kazakhstan Liaison

Anna is a native of Saint-Petersburg, Russia where she worked as an interpreter and supervisor for a non-profit organization that worked with children in orphanages and the elderly.

“I have seen how kids live in orphanages and I know how much they appreciate even a little bit of attention,” Rister said. “I am proud to work with Children's Hope to help the little ones find loving homes.” Rister is married and has lived in the United States since September, 2003. She has received her bachelors in Database Processing and Management, from Saint Petersburg College and then went on to work on her Masters Degree in International Economic Relationship at Saint Petersburg University.

 

Jeff Morris

Program Coordinator/Social Worker

Jeff joined Children’s Hope in November of 2006. He is currently working on his Master in Social Work degree from Saint Louis University. Previously, he received his bachelor’s degree in social work from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Jeff has extensive experience working with children through church volunteer work, various youth mentoring programs, and most recently he served as a child welfare specialist for the state of Missouri. Jeff is the proud father of a girl adopted from Children’s Hope Russia Program. Through his personal experiences, Jeff has developed a strong interest and passion for international adoption.

 

Marilyn Muegge

Marilyn Muegge
Administrative Assistant for Russian/Kazakhstan

Marilyn joined the Children’s Hope team in May 2006. Her background includes positions in the international corporate, legal, and non-profit fields, most recently the Center for Conservation at Missouri Botanical Garden. Marilyn earned her MA in Spanish from St. Louis University, has studied in Spain and Mexico, and traveled in Europe extensively. She has taught classroom Spanish and enjoys tutoring. Her passions are international culture/travel and volunteering for Birthright, the St. Louis Crisis Nursery and Ranken Jordan Pediatric Rehab Center.
