ETHIOPIA PROGRAM UPDATES

Springtime Blossoming in the Hearts of Children with New Homes

Twenty-three children entered into their new parents' arms and came home to the United States so far this year, through Children's Hope International's Ethiopia adoption program. Five came home this month to the beautiful spring weather and all things truly made new.

In mid-April, eight Children's Hope families received referrals, including 6 boys and 2 girls. The youngest little boy was 2 months old and the oldest of those children referred was 3 years old. Congratulations to all of these families! The longest waiting period for these referral families was 5 months.

New Staff in Ethiopia
Children's Hope - Ethiopia has added 4 nannies to our House of Hope transition home staff. Although the number of children in residence at the House of Hope changes daily, at our highest capacity to date, this brings the child to nanny ratio to 2:1.

Ethiopian Guest
On Saturday, April 19, Pastor Abraham from Phares Orphanage in Ethiopia visited Children's Hope International Headquarters in St. Louis. Children's Hope partners with Pastor Abraham in Ethiopia in our Humanitarian Aid efforts and Orphan Sponsorship. He and his wife not only run an orphanage but they also build relationships and work with 3000 families in their community who are in need of various types of assistance. The couple visited the U.S. to minister to Ethiopian churches in several states. If you'd like to learn more about Pastor Abraham and some of the projects in which we partner with him, visit our website –click on
"Orphan Sponsorship" on the Children's Hope home page, www.ChildrensHope.net.

There is a lot of excitement in the Ethiopia program, with families in every step of the way towards completing their adoptions; we congratulate them all!

April Adoptions: 5 (7 children)

2008 Total Adoptions: 18 (23 children)

Through the flour of sugar cookies and the smell of dinner cooking on the stove, little Ryelynn is experiencing family, love, and kisses in great number ...and chicks and a brother, too! Stacie and Taylor adopted 21-month-old Ryelynn from Ethiopia in February 2008. Happy Mother's Day, Stacie!
